The City of Guntersville currently has an opening for a Maintenance worker at the Guntersville Parks and Recreation Center.  The primary duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  1. Cleaning and maintenance of buildings and facilities.
  2. Mowing grass, trim shrubs, and polices outside areas and keeps clean of trash and debris.
  3. Does minor painting and limited building repair.
  4. Drags and lines athletic fields.
  5. Replaces lavatory supplies and disposes of trash and waste paper.
  6. Drives truck, mower, & tractor; picks up trash, operates various mechanized hand and power equipment used in cutting grass, maintaining grounds, custodial work, and limited facility repair work.
  7. Maintains tools, truck, mower, tractor and other power equipment; makes simple field repairs.

 

Requirements for this position include:

 

  1. Must possess a valid AL Driver’s License.
  2. Must be able to work flexible hours.
  3. Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials & equipment.
  4. Knowledge of park, athletic field, and grounds maintenance.
  5. Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing and small engine repair.
  6. Skilled in the operation of hand and powered equipment.
  7. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  8. Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
  9. Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform manual work.

The City of Guntersville currently has an opening for Senior Center Aid  This is a part-time position.  The primary duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  1. Responsible for transportation of Senior Center patrons.
  2. Delivers home bound meals to clients.
  3. Assist in serving congregant meals to patrons.
  4. Assist in cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen area.
  5. Responsible for janitorial duties as needed.
  6. Empties trash and recyclables as needed.

 

Requirements for this position include:

 

  1. Must have a valid Alabama Driver’s License and driving record suitable for insurability.

  1. Responsible for receiving, processing, and documenting all calls for service for the Police Department from the public and relaying the information to the appropriate source for assistance.
  2. Works with CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch), telephones, radios, recording equipment, etc.
  3. Assist Jailer as needed.

 

Requirements for this position include:

 

  1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  2. Ability to handle multi-tasks.
  3. Ability to handle stressful situations.
  4. Ability to achieve and maintain NCIC certification.
  5. Skilled in the operation of computers and electronic data processing.
  6. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  7. Must have ability to be helpful, courteous, and deal tactfully with the citizens of Guntersville.
  8. Must have a valid Alabama Driver’s License.
  9. Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  10. 1 year experience in dispatching preferred.
